Local Law Enforcement
Around fifty cars have been marked with what appears to be human bodily fluid in the Germany's city of Hanau near Frankfurt, as reported by law enforcement.
Cars, exterior walls and postboxes were marked, occasionally with swastikas, they announced in a release.
Officers report they were alerted in the late hours on Wednesday, when a resident discovered that a automobile in the Lamboy neighborhood of Hanau had been covered with a red-colored substance.
The fluid had been applied in the form of a Nazi symbol, they stated.
Police then discovered numerous other smeared vehicles and building exteriors in the nearby vicinity.
Nazi symbols are banned in Germany under legislation banning the visible presentation of symbols from the Nazi era.
Law enforcement say preliminary tests show the fluid was most likely human blood.
"Currently there is no indication as to its origin; authorities are presently not aware of any injuries in association with the incident," they commented.
City officials stated they were attempting "to resolve the incident" and have requested to the community for tips.
An important political figure said the incident rendered him without words and required to be addressed quickly.
"This event strikes at the center of Hanau and reawakens the wounds of the extremist attack in 2020," he stated on a platform, mentioning the death of nine individuals by a shooter focusing on individuals of migrant background in five years prior.
