19 of Medvedev's twenty-one victories have been won on hard courts
A revitalized Medvedev secured his initial title for nearly 30 months with success over Corentin Moutet in the Almaty Open championship match.
The athlete, a former top-ranked player, has had a difficult period, achieving just a single victory at the Grand Slams and suffering a setback at the American major.
The player's varied form on the professional circuit - and struggles with his serve in particular - led to him exiting of the top ten and eventually splitting with long-term mentor Gilles Cervara.
Currently working with his coach and Goetzke, Medvedev has consistently improved in the last few weeks - peaking in a tightly fought 7-5 4-6 6-3 victory over opponent Moutet.
This marks his first trophy since the Rome competition and first on a hardcourt from spring of the previous year.
The win also means Medvedev has secured 21 victories at twenty-one distinct events.
"For the first time I have attended a tournament with my both daughters at once, so to get a title is especially meaningful," commented tennis professional Medvedev.
"This championship is in honour of my second daughter Victoria, because the initial championship I achieved when my first daughter my daughter was delivered was for her."
The tennis star, the past champion, had lost his past six championship matches, featuring in Halle in the past months.
His counter-punching strategy and regular reactions on court had led commentators to wonder if his capacity to compete at the elite level was concluded.
However the player has implemented adjustments in the last few weeks, making an effort to come to the net and perform positively, supported by an improved service.
The champion came back from a disadvantage in the first set against the difficult Moutet, winning four of the last five exchanges to take the lead.
The pair traded breaks in the second set before Moutet, bidding for his maiden ATP Tour title, seized the initiative to create a third set.
Moutet defended four initial opportunities in a close final set before Medvedev won the break to fifteen to secure the win.
Suitably, Medvedev secured the title with a shot at the front of the court, with his opponent failing to manage a volley after two hours and 38 minutes.
