Ten individuals sentenced of digital abuse against Brigitte Macron

A court in Paris has found guilty ten people for carrying out the digital intimidation of Brigitte Macron, the partner of France's leader, Emmanuel Macron.
The those on trial faced allegations of circulating untruths regarding her sex and sexual orientation, in addition to posting malicious remarks about the pair's age disparity of 24 years.
The court handed down suspended jail terms of a maximum of eight months to the defendants. The full ruling has yet to be released.
A persistent unfounded claim claiming that Brigitte Macron is a person assigned male at birth has been in circulation since her husband's first electoral victory in 2017.
This recent ruling in France coincides with the Macrons initiating a legal action for defamation in the United States of America against conservative commentator Candace Owens, who has also voiced similar conspiracy theories about the Brigitte Macron's identity.
Their complaint alleges that Owens disregarded all credible evidence contradicting her allegations choosing instead to give a platform to established defamers.
Owens has often echoed these assertions on her podcast and social media channels, and in March 2024 declared that she would risk all her credibility on her conviction that Mrs. Macron is biologically male.
Brigitte Macron first met her now-husband when she worked as an educator at his secondary school.
The pair tied the knot in 2007, when the then-29-year-old Emmanuel Macron was 29 and she was 54.
